Minimal drawings project: drawings
Abuelas, digital video 2'53'', 2008
The exhibition is composed of the installation in situ Dalinda y Rebeca and the display of drawings from the Minimal Drawings project.
Un moment sur l'aile du vent, title taken from a poem by Henry Michaux, is an exhibition about memory and its archive. A selection of drawings from the Minimal Drawings project form the “archives”, in which I record events, ideas, and emotions related to what is happening in the near and far world. Using mixed media techniques, drawings are made on small cards on which “notes” are taken.
The installation in situ Dalinda y Rebeca consists of a drawing, a wall painting and a video. The drawing is based on the text of the transcription of the sound recording of the childhood memories of my grandmothers. The text is transformed into drawing through the embroidery of the words, the wall painting is its scale-enlarged reproduction. The video, Abuelas, shows the writing of my childhood memories at the rate of the narrative of my grandmothers.
