I dwell in Possibility
“I dwell in Possibility–
A fairer House that Prose–
More numerous of Windows–
Superior –for Doors–Of Chambers as the Cedars–
Impregnable of eye–
And for an everlasting Roof–
The Gambrels of the Sky–Of visitors –the fairest–
For Occupation –this–
The Spreading wide my narrow Hands
To gather Paradise–”Emily Dickinson
“Under the title I dwell in Possibility, Lucile Bertrand and Natalia Blanch take over the house of the artist Evelyne de Behr and of Thierry Lucas. The reference to Emily Dickinson's poem in which the writer praises poetry – a much more beautiful home than prose because it is the place of all possibilities – sheds light on the relationship that these two artists have with both the domus and the poesis.” Nadine Plateau, excerpt from the text of the exhibition catalogue I dwell in Possibility.
“Natalia Blanch's work addresses the force of life and its transformation, in each act of creation as well as in motherhood. Thus, the video Keep going, which focuses on her condition as a woman, mother and artist, was created for the exhibition. But also, her appropriations of existing art works that she transforms through different mediums, notably the Annunciations painted by Fra Angelico, which she revisits, moves and deconstructs to offer new readings.” Excerpt from the exhibition press release.
