I created a series of drawings and a digital collage for the Flash Aïkido magazine, published by the AFA (Association francophone d'aïkido de Belgique) in February 2026. I have been practicing aïkido since 2003, and it was particularly important to me to contribute to this special edition of the Flash Aïkido focused on the concept of emptiness (MU), which is essential to this martial art.

In the work I created for the occasion, emptiness manifests itself through the absence of physicality and through the idea of connection and grid.

The texture of the tatami and the folded hakama witness the passage of the practitioners, before and after training. The drawing of the hakama's straps forms a net of knots, emphasizing the idea of the relationship in the learning and development of the discipline — a process that takes place with others and seeks communication and harmony within the practice.
